Verified Reviewer |Got a replacement motor for a carrier...
- Carrier condenser fan motor HC44L852 replaced by distributor.
- Wiring diagram shows 3-phase; original used 2-phase; distributor says Carrier-updated.
I got a replacement motor for a Carrier condenser fan motor, HC44L852, from a Carrier distributor, and the wiring diagram on the replacement appears to be true 3 phase, while the original motor only used 2 phases. The distributor said this is the updated replacement motor specified by Carrier. Please help.

Verified ReviewerDefective furnace
- Wiring harness caught fire; the house could have burned down if not home.
- The unit was under warranty; Carrier had no spare parts nationwide.
Don't buy Carrier products. Beware of their off brand competing products.
They offer brand to hide poor product quality and customer service.
Wattarenties to Carriwr mean nothing. Research class action lawsuits against Carrier.
If I was asleep I could of died!
This unit was under warranty. Carrier had no spare parts! How convient for them. Nationwide search for parts was done, no parts nationwide.
If you want to risk your life, buy Carrier.
They also manufacture under other brand names.
Don't fall for their tricks. Maybe that's why they have no parts. Maybe that's why they manufacture under other brands. Buyers beware.
They have been sued in the past class action lawsuits suits and lost. Who wants to buy from a consumer unfriendly manufacturer.

Verified Reviewer |Carbon monoxide leaks with carrier heater
- Heat exchanger has holes releasing carbon monoxide at home.
- I was told not to use the heater.
- Parts are hard to obtain; full replacement may be needed.
I had my heater serviced and was told the heat exchange had small holes in the equipment, which was releasing carbon monoxide in my home environment. Carrier parts are hard to get, and I will probably need to get a whole new HVAC system replaced.
This is very dangerous, and I was told not to use the heater at all. The Carrier HVAC was placed 13 years ago—very disappointed in the value of their product and very concerned that other customers may be exposed to carbon monoxide.
Any recommendations for help with this issue? Jo B.

Verified ReviewerToo Bad there is no 0 rating
- Blower motor failed in 4 months; unit swapped.
- Exterior aluminum coils leak; must be replaced.
- Coils delayed: 2 weeks quoted; now Oct 19; escalated.
I bought a brand new air conditioner 01/2024. I had the blower motor go out less then 4 months later.
I waited 3 days for the part in sweltering Florida heat. Unit was switched out and I went on with my life. Now 1 year 7 months later since I purchases this unit, my exterior coils are leaking. They are aluminum and cannot be fixed, so they have to be replaced.
This happened on August 17th, 2025. I was told by the distributor it would take 2 weeks to get the coils. It is now Sept 15th, and they are telling me it will be October 19, 2025. Maybe a week or two earlier because I have an "escalated" case.
I have not been able to stay in my home, so sadly I either need to buy a whole new system, or wait for the part. That is my options from Carrier.
Please if CUSTOMER SERVICE is a priority, do not buy from this manufacturer. I live in Florida, and this company could care less that their product failed me, and the ridiculous amount of time to replace the warranty part.
User's recommendation: DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT

Verified ReviewerDefectived unit , never work , demand fees, freight for providing parts, no AC for 30+ days
- Defective from day one; unit failed to operate since installation.
- Warranty issues: charges, delays, and 30+ days with no AC; policy unclear.
Still nothing is happening, stil waiting to receive defective parts from their dealer, they asking xtra 260 usd to expedite , paid $260 but still not able to get parts, Brand new system only ran 3 hrs then leaked all freon 454B , will cost $500+usd to refill ...very frustrated ....will turn Carrier nad their dealer to Houston Better business once I get it resolve. So far sent several email to Carrier but no respond. out of AC 45 + days with AC.
From day one, the unit failed to operate as expected.
I contacted the dealer immediately, and since then, it has been an incredibly difficult and time-consuming process just to request warranty service. I have faced delays, miscommunication, and a complete lack of professionalism.
Despite the product being under warranty, I have been asked to cover various charges icluding fees for parts, freight costs, and service calls all for a unit that was clearly faulty from the beginning. This is unacceptable.
To make matters worse, it has now been over 30 days without a functioning air conditioner. I have wasted countless hours trying to get support, only to be passed around and offered no real solutions.
This experience has been frustrating, stressful, and extremely disappointing.
The product quality is poor, the dealer has provided unprofessional service, and your warranty policy is difficult and unclear. I will not recommend your brand to anyone based on this experience, and I urge you to take immediate corrective action.

Verified Reviewer |VERY BAD UNIT
- All-in-one unit installed over 2 years ago had problems.
- Carrier advised another company; repairs costly.
- The unit was a lemon; we spent over $35k; now it works.
No one from carrier corp
I contacted Carrier, and they suggested that we use another company, which we did, and they came out a number of times to repair the unit that keeps costing us money every time. I stayed in touch with the Carrier company and filed a complaint but have not heard from anyone. So in the meantime, the company that keeps coming out said that it was a bad unit and they recommend that we replace the whole system. We were going to have just the ductwork replaced, but they said they would not fix the unit as it was a lemon.
I would not recommend contacting Carrier as they don't get back to you anyway. So we did have everything replaced and all is working great, but as for the Carrier company, they don't care about you or your satisfaction.
They would not contact you or help you. We spent over $35,000.00 on AC repairs and replacement of a lemon unit.
- No pros only cons
- Dont contact you or care about you

Verified ReviewerThe worst Carriers UniUni
- Carriers failed to contact and times fluctuated from 14 to 45 minutes.
- Spent hours on the phone with no answer.
- Not recommended by reviewer.
This is the second time these incompetent carriers are so lazy that they don't even contact for the delivery if they need more information. I wouldn't recommend this carrier; they are pitiful!
So cheap, and their customer service is poor - their call center team of dispatchers are a huge joke. I spent 2 hours on the phone in 2 days, and no one answered the phone! Honestly, this company needs to be shut down.
One minute it's 14 minutes, then 17 minutes, and then 45! It's not worth even half a star!!!
- Nothing is good about them so unprofessional and lazy

Verified ReviewerDeadly designed product
- Carrier product failure caused a fire in the unit.
- No new wiring harness for a warranted unit; class-action settlements for fires.
Carrier hvac does not care about you! Even if your unit is under warranty. Even if your unit starts a fire!Lucky I was home to shut unit off.If I was sleeping at night, who knows, I could of burned to death! When I researched Carrier, I found two class action lawsuits that had to be settled in court! Is that a consumer friendly company you want to do business with?
Carrier did not have new wiring harness in middle of winter for purchased unit under warranty. They played games, don't recognize harness, serial number and model number have many many different harnesses and we need part number off of burnt harness.
Give me a break.
After telling them over 10 times and sending them pictures of burnt out unit, they said we didn't know unit caught fire!
After searching web about Carrier, they had at least two settled class action lawsuits for unit fires.
Don't be burned alive in your sleep.
Stay away from Carrier and it's many other brands such as Bryant. Large manufacturers do other brands because reputation sucks.
Don't be fooled.dont buy do online research

Verified ReviewerScam of a Company with Worthless False Promise Warranty
- Carrier warranties are described as useless and a scam.
- Outdoor condenser failed under warranty; part would take 3–4 months.
They haven't done a single thing to make this right
My outdoor condenser went bad on a unit that is LESS THAN 3 YEARS old and UNDER WARRANTY but when contacting them, they told me it was going to take 3-4 months to get the part. Without this part, the entire AC system would not run. I live in South Florida where it has been over 90 degrees with high humidity and the only solution they would provide is to go 3-4 months WITHOUT AC and practically die inside of the house.
I was forced to have to buy a brand new outdoor condenser so that my house is livable and they do nothing knowing they have a warranty that is a scam and no one can use because of how long it takes to get the parts knowing AC is a necessity for human life here. Never buy any hardware from Carrier as their warranty is a false promise that is worthless and a complete SCAM!
- False promise warranty
- Terrible customer service
- Scam
Preferred solution: Reimbursement of having to replace the condenser

I don't think they give a crap they are not answering my calls nor my emails Hoping that I just go away
The 6-year-old Carrier compressor already broke. The warranty covered that, but not the $2000 for all the things needed to replace it. The Carrier unit should last more than 6 years.
- Quit
- Should last longer
Preferred solution: Price reduction
User's recommendation: Check and see what the warranty covers because it doesn't last as long as it should

I couldn’t agree more! I have a two year old HVAC system and twice I had to spend money to have the AC fixed because it stopped cooling my home and I also had 1 problem with the furnace…long story short, the gas valve failed and a small fire inside the unit occurred and I was woke up in the middle of the night by the smoke alarm in the basement!
3 problems with a two year old unit is just plain *** in my opinion. Complete junk in my opinion and I’ll never buy a Carrier product ever again.
